The transfer of the American company Google to Russia was discussed at the end of March at a meeting in the Ministry of Communications, dedicated to preparations for the entry into force of the law on the storage of personal data. Three participants in the meeting told RBC – employees of companies owning data processing centers (data centers), and a source close to the government. The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers of Communications Alexei Sokolov and Rashid Ismailov, President of the Association of Participants in the Central Center of the Central Stand, Alexei Degtyarev, as well as the owners and leaders of the largest Russian dates. The meeting was organized by the Internet Ombudsman Dmitry Marinichev.
At the disposal of RBC was a transcript of the meeting, according to which one of the participants announced that Google was storing information on the territory of the Date Center of his company. “Google [теперь] is our client. We have a regime semi -state enterprise, ”he said. According to him, Google at first “didn’t let anyone in my racks”-only her own employees who arrived from abroad had access.
