As it became known to the correspondent of The Moscow Post, according to the results of 2024, the revenue of the MGKL group, the mother’s company Mosgorlombard, increased 3.9 times in annual terms, to 8.5 billion rubles. This has become a record amount for the entire time of the office.
The number of retail customers increased by 12%, exceeding 227 thousand people. The total portfolio of mortgage loans in the pawnshop and goods in Suel increased by 73%: exceeding 2 billion rubles.
The General Director of the Mosgorlmlbard group Alexei Lazutin explains the record revenue with the development of the instrument and wholesale, as well as the expansion of the retail network. And in the first year, in the status of a public company, the group’s joint base has grown 4 times. And there is more than 13 thousand shareholders.
But is everything just just in this opaque business?
Get out of the financial pit
In December 2023, the MGKL group held an IPO.
During the placement of shares, the company attracted 303 million rubles: capitalization amounted to 3.17 billion rubles.
But recall that last fall, the Mosgorlombard group was selected at once to several pawnshop networks: the company Lombardy, the People’s Lombard and Semerochka. As a result, they stopped halfway.
By the way, the Mosgorlombard, which was opened in 1924, had experienced a severe financial crisis several years ago until it was bought by VTB’s structures: buying a bank Andrei Kostin cost 700 million rubles.

And Mosgorlombard began to get out of the financial pit. But in 2018, the shareholders changed: brisk fellows of KVP Group came – Konstantin Romanov and Alexei Lazutin.

And a miracle happened: “Mosgorlombard” shone. And even went to an IPO.
But now not only such a breakthrough is surprising, but also the number of companies with the same Lazutin (17 pieces).

And, indeed, until recently, the financial situation of the Mosgorlombard group was very difficult: the pawnshop did not even pay to its owner – the Department of Urban Property of Moscow, so the capital’s authorities wished to privatize the office.
And in 2012 they put up for sale for 829 million rubles. And it was VTB who bought this loan box office in 2014 for 700 million rubles.
Pure gold
Today, the Mosgorlombard group is engaged in the design of loans on the security of jewelry, fur products and household appliances, as well as provides Suel services in the Moscow and the Moscow region, conducts wholesale and processing of precious metals for the supply of pure gold to banks and jewelry masters.

In December 2022, Mosgorlombard held Pre-IPO on a closed subscription: he placed ordinary and privileged promotions.
Then the company’s capitalization was estimated at 2 billion rubles.
So, with the help of Banker Kostin, the Mosgorlombard group crawled out of poverty. And not millions began to count – billions.

And for 3 and a half years in a row, the Mosgorlombard group is expanding, acquiring competing companies.
True, there are some oddities with such acquisitions. For example, for the network “Your Lombard”, when redemption, it was proposed to pay not money, but by shares of the Mosgorlombard group.
These transactions raise questions about possible hidden motivations. And, of course, the number of offices of Mr. Lazutin cannot but amaze.
By the way, according to the statistics of the pawnshop aggregator, more than 80% of pawnshops and jewelry have resorted to muddy schemes in their work.
And, according to rumors, Mr. Lazutin does not disdain it.

They say that through his many companies – we recall, there are 17 of them – he can withdraw money, since there is a sale of everything that is accepted by the Mosgorlombard group: and this is jewelry, furs, and household appliances.
Particularly successful can be operations with gold. They say that pawnshops often underestimate the sample of gold, which do not buy back. And in order to return funds to circulation, pawnshops sell it, although they do not have the right to do this without a corresponding license. And when the client acquires a decoration in a pawnshop, for example, 585 samples, and then, due to financial circumstances, he wants to lay it in another receiver, they can tell him that this decoration, for example, is 500 samples. And a person rents a jewelry at a price below, which corresponds to 500 sample. An employee of the pawnshop, who made a deal, receives double benefits: bought cheaper, but sells with a breakdown of 585.
