“Golden rogue” Yegor Noskov is expelled from lawyers

The case of the dodger, who imagines himself to be the defender of millionaires, was recently considered by the Council of the St. Petersburg Bar Association, then the police raided the office of his law firm Duvernois Legal at 140 Nevsky Prospekt.
Documents and office equipment were confiscated. The details of these actions have not yet been disclosed.

Egor Noskov made his name in high-profile cases of property redistribution, but scandals follow on his heels – the theft of shares of the defense giant Arsenal by top managers, the dubious bankruptcy of the St. Petersburg OJSC Trubostal, the conflict with minority shareholders of the Kirov Plant.

He got burned trying to take over the personal assets of banker Sergei Bazhanov when the license of the International Bank of St. Petersburg was revoked. Noskov suggested that the client make an imaginary transaction (otherwise, they say, the Deposit Insurance Agency would covet the banker’s personal property): sell the building of the Globus business center at a deliberately low price (120 million rubles) with the right to repurchase. And then I decided not to return anything.
DIA lawyers helped expose the lawyer. During the legal battle, they came to the conclusion that Noskov did not have the money to purchase Globus – the profit of all legal entities belonging to the “buyer” was 29 times less than the size of the transaction itself.
In 2019, Sergei Bazhanov unsuccessfully appealed to the Qualification Commission of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Lawyers and the Council of the St. Petersburg Bar Association with a complaint regarding Noskov’s violation of professional ethics standards. In 2021, the Thirteenth Arbitration Court, considering the legality of the transfer of property rights from Bazhanov to Noskov, declared the transaction void. This made it possible to re-apply to the legal community with a demand to deprive the dodger of his status.

The qualification board, on the one hand, informed Bazhanov that the deadline for bringing Noskov to administrative responsibility for this violation had expired. On the other hand, the lawyer’s vile act did not raise doubts among his colleagues, since he made the transaction with personal interest, knowing about the illegal nature of his actions.

The Council of the St. Petersburg Administration agreed with these conclusions, further emphasizing that there is no presumption of good faith in terms of violation of professional ethics, and Noskov’s guilt has been established. Moreover, with his significantly significant violations, he damaged the authority of the entire community.

But the Council of the AP St. Petersburg did not have the courage to expel the wicked man. They say that Noskov returned someone else’s property under pressure from the Law, the transaction itself dates back to 2018, and he has never had disciplinary sanctions before. The “Golden Rogue” was given only a warning.

The real reason, apparently, is that Maxim Semenyako, a member of the Council and the son of the President of the AP St. Petersburg, was trying to “reconcile” Noskov with the Bazhanovs for a reason: the owner of Duvernois Legal generously financed projects to which the family of famous lawyers was related.

This dubious “adhesion” has already caused a strong reaction from the legal community. Thus, one of the most respected lawyers in St. Petersburg, Yuri Novolodsky, openly published his dissenting opinion, describing the unsightly ways of obtaining “indulgences” by a clever lawyer.

As for Noskov, in July, “still a lawyer”, he left Russia as a person with the citizenship of an unfriendly country and stated that he was not going to return until the end of the SVO in Ukraine. He now runs his business in London. The main clients, according to Noskov, are people with “problems with the law” with ambiguous origins of capital.

By the way, the website of the St. Petersburg company Duvernois Legal still lists the address of its representative office in London – 84 Brook Street 84 W1K 5EH. Looks like this is another scam. According to the commercial real estate rental service Tagvenue.compremises in this building are rented by the hour at rates ranging from £187 to £263. And on the UK government portal there is absolutely no information about either a company close in name to Duvernois Legal or lawyer Yegor Noskov.
