From January to April 2021, the number of corruption crimes in Russia increased by 20.9%, follows from the legal statistics of the Prosecutor General. The total damage from such crimes increased to 22.9 billion rubles. In almost half the cases, it was a question of bribery.
The agency associates the growth of corruption crimes with the “activation of work to establish facts of bribery.” From the total number of corruption crimes, cases of bribery are occupied by about half. In a third of cases, the size of the bribe did not exceed 10 thousand rubles. Most of these crimes were identified in Perm (135), Stavropol (113) lands and the Republic of Bashkortostan (101).
“Regarding the previous year, the amount of damage caused by corruption crimes increased from 17.9 billion rubles. Up to 22.9 billion rubles, ”said the Prosecutor General.
