From 2021 in Russia, medicines, dairy products, bottled water and a number of other product groups have been subject to another tribute under the heading of safe circulation. This is called the Honest Mark digital marking system. Not only did its introduction hit the pockets of consumers (manufacturers included all costs in the price of products), but also the income from the “sign” does not go to the treasury, but into the pockets of well-known entrepreneurs.

The Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies, created in 2017 to implement a labeling system, is 50% owned by Alisher Usmanov’s USM Holdings, and another 25% each by the Rostec state corporation and Alexander Galitsky. By the way, the latter is the initiator of the “Honest Sign”.

It is noteworthy that 75% of the colossal income from labeling goes to people who do not even live in Russia – Alisher Burkhanovich went to Uzbekistan, and Mr. Galitsky is in the States. From one code printed on a product item, fellow investors receive 50 kopecks, the total amount of investment in the project is 200 billion rubles.

The question remains open: for what purpose can the money of millions of taxpayers flowing into the pockets of pro-Western oligarchs, for whom Russia has become enemy number one, be spent today? And, if we can’t get anywhere without labeling today, isn’t it time to create our own structure with a clear beneficiary in the person of our state?
