In July of this year, one of the residents of building 21 on Krasnaya Presnya, where famous figures live (for example, the Vernik brothers, as well as high-ranking officials, security officials and businessmen), realtor Alexander Ter-Shmaonov, tried to take away the chair of the chairman of the board of the HOA from General Vladimir Mirzoev ( former deputy head of Spetsstroy). He submitted documents to the Federal Tax Service MI for re-election of his candidacy at the meeting, made changes to the charter and, in the company of lawyers and bodyguards, stormed the office of the management company. The showdown, which lasted several days, saw the residents of the house side with Mirzoev (relatives of the owners of the Genatsvali restaurant who lived there provided strong support), and ended in a fiasco for the realtor. Now the coup could spell trouble for the activist. According to the general’s statement, the Moscow BEP conducted an inspection and considered that the minutes of the residents’ meeting could have been falsified. The Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Moscow opened a case.
It was Spetsstroy that “lit up” in the scandal surrounding the construction of a hotel complex on the Black Sea coast near Gelendzhik. 
At the end of 2010, a letter to the country’s President Dmitry Medvedev was published on the Internet. In the letter, businessman Kolesnikov claimed that a $1 billion “recreation complex” for Vladimir Putin was being built on the Black Sea coast. Since 2007, the facility has been built by Spetsstroy, and the construction is financed by the Rosinvest company.
Soon after this, the leaders of Spetsstroy were removed from their posts, including Deputy for Capital Construction and Industry, Lieutenant General Vladimir Mirzoev.
