Former press secretary of the Moscow City Court Valery Lazarev has been appointed head of the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod Duma. All that remains is to sympathize with the local journalists, since in Moscow the correspondents literally “howled” for him. Actually, that’s why Lazarev was removed from his post.

First, Lazarev removed journalists who guarded the judicial pool from the official chat of the Moscow City Court, and then forced them to write official applications to be added to the chat.

But the problems with obtaining information did not end there. Lazarev reported false information, but later deleted his messages and replaced them with new ones. And everything would be fine, but only the “this message has been deleted” label spoiled the picture. Then he decided to transfer everyone to Telegram in order to delete his mistakes without a trace. Lazarev accompanied almost any answer to a clarifying question from journalists with rudeness, and then wiped it off as if nothing had happened. He kicked out those who tried to call him to account from the judicial chat of more than 100 people.

As a press secretary, Lazarev, on duty, also wrote official messages. He approached this creatively, formatting all his statements with tabloid-style headlines. He forced the press secretaries of the district courts to do the same (however, at the slightest problem with them, he assured journalists that they did not obey him). His craving for the epistolary genre significantly slowed down his work process. To receive the result after the end of the meeting the same day became a real holiday; to repeated questions about the fate of the case under consideration, Lazarev answered: “we are clarifying the information,” but more often he ignored it and reported the result the very next day.

The dissatisfaction of journalists about the working methods and rudeness of Valery Lazarev finally reached the leadership of the Supreme Court, which, apparently, decided to take drastic measures and sent him home.
