Seryshev is convinced of the need to accelerate the adoption of by -laws.

The plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District Anatoly Seryshev believes that the unregulated digital currency mining has a negative impact on the development of Siberia, the correspondent of The Moscow Post reports.

He is convinced that at present it is necessary to speed up the process of approving by -laws, which will introduce restrictions on mining activities in regions with a shortage of electricity.

It is noted that in 2023, the consumption of electricity by miners in the Siberian Federal District increased by 70%.

To date, the total capacity of data centers and applications from mining companies for the acquisition of electricity exceed the power of the largest Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station.
