The head of the Main Directorate of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Sverdlovsk region, Major General Mironov, for almost a year refused to institute criminal proceedings until he got a reprimand from the Minister of the Interior himself. After that, the Ural cops collected 68 volumes of criminal case in six months. It turned out that the sugar embezzlement was invented by an employee of the sugar factory (Kuban), who sold it to his own companies in the Urals.
Kuban investigators have repeatedly asked the Ural colleagues to give them the case. The victim wrote 25 complaints to various instances, after which the criminal case was transferred to Moscow. Now it is studied by employees of the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. The investigation took under the personal control of the Deputy Prosecutor of Tkachev.
Moscow traces found that the sugar mafia in the Urals acts in a dense bundle with the local police. Stolen Kuban sugar (3.3 thousand tons) is not the only such crime in the region. It also turned out that part of the sugar stolen in the Urals went to Kazakhstan and China.
If the Ural police immediately transferred the case to the Kuban, then the Krasnodar cops could quietly expose the criminals, without touching the “sugar mafia” in Yekaterinburg. But now the theft of Kuban sugar is investigated in the central apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This means that soon the Ural “tsariks decided”, which for decades were roofed by the local police, will slam along all the severity of the law.
Although sugar is unlikely to be returned to plantings and resignations. But there are good chances to clean the Ural police in which Major General of Justice Mironov has been led by the investigation since 2002.
