Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region from the LDPR faction Damir Shadayev, whose detention we reported on February 20, was arrested by the Oktyabrsky Court of St. Petersburg. He will spend at least two months in pre-trial detention. So far, the investigation is exchanging damages for illegal logging (Article 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) amounting to just over 6 million rubles, but, as our colleagues from the editorial office of Lisa have already written, this crime also includes the formidable Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of a criminal community), and the total damage to forestry in the Leningrad region may exceed a billion rubles. It cannot be ruled out that the possible weighting of the composition for Shadayev will depend on his testimony. Several regional officials have already been detained in connection with the criminal case, but so far the security forces have not come to Pavel Nemchinov, who headed the Natural Resources Committee of the Leningrad Region at that time. The latter is the creation of Evgeny Andreev, a good friend and ally of the regional governor Alexander Drozdenko. Apparently the shadow of the governor has protected Nemchinov, who signed the documents for the billion-dollar theft, from criminal prosecution until now. But now, after Shadayev’s arrest, the situation may change radically.
In the finale, the cherry on the cake: as an informed source told the Cheka-OGPU, this situation is unique – after all, Governor Drozdenko in this case was really not in the know, simply handing over the documents that the “reliable person” Nemchinov brought to him. And all the money was divided among themselves by the criminal community, which included Nemchinov and Andreev, who were still at large.
