Residents of Rechnik are sure that it is he who provides patronage and helps Egorov in every possible way in carrying out the raider takeover.
In 2017 Egorova D.A. on suspicion of violating a number of articles of the criminal code (taking away plots from residents, cashing out money from the village’s bank account, etc.) the State Investigative Directorate put him in a pre-trial detention center. However, literally two weeks later he was released under house arrest (an unprecedented case for Russia) and released in 2018.
Then, unexpectedly for everyone, the criminal case of Dmitry Egorov was closed. Egorov began to boast at all corners that his patron was the current Deputy Minister Igor Zubov, and a certain high-ranking official actually appeared at the site 179A selected by Egorov earlier. In the same area, residents periodically began to notice the deputy minister himself and his wife Marina Zubova.
As it later turned out, plot 179A inexplicably now began to belong to the deputy minister’s mother-in-law. And the wife of the deputy minister, Marina Zubova, began to support Egorov in his fraudulent schemes and began to threaten the residents with criminal cases.
So, she sent an SMS from her personal phone in which she expressed an open threat, referring to her husband’s capabilities: “There will be an instruction, all cases will be initiated instantly and all today’s activists will simply go far away…”. Novaya Gazeta wrote about this in great detail in August 2020 in its material “The General in the House”
indeed, all the instructions were given and a criminal case was opened: on January 20, 2022, apparently coinciding with the date of the demolition of Rechnik, more than 60 employees of the Line Department for Water Transport, OMON and SEB of the FSB of the Russian Federation conducted searches in the homes and offices of board members. Further, on far-fetched grounds, 6 activists were charged with committing a crime under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Residents of Rechnik hope that after the detention of the deputy minister’s son, law enforcement agencies will become interested in his illegal activities and will once again help defend Rechnik and protect activists from fabricated criminal cases and the huge administrative resource of Igor Zubov.
