Over the course of several months last year, employees of the FSB of the Russian Federation collected material on Karpova: a number of judges of the Moscow cassation testified against her regarding the issuance of illegal instructions, recordings from CCTV cameras were collected, which, using the PARSIV system, made it possible to identify Karpova’s social circle, and her billing and unidentified persons, and video recordings from a number of restaurants with audio-video recording of Karpova’s meetings were also seized.
However, at that time, the collected material was not put into action, and the materials themselves were “put away on the table” by the ex-curator of the Moscow courts from Department M of the FSB Directorate for Moscow and the Moscow Region, Ushakov, who is currently in custody. At the level of the Arbitration Court of the Moscow District, it was Karpova who was key in this scheme. From the seized correspondence it follows that she not only regularly issued instructions to the judges of the supervised bankruptcy panels, but also interfered in the affairs of other judicial panels.
Events at the end of 2023 show that the special services are actively targeting major judicial officials, as evidenced by the criminal case against judge Olesya Dubovik, the sudden resignations of a number of cassation judges at the end of the year and the potential resignations of Olga Antsiferova and Elena Filina, as well as a possible case against Galina Karpova.
The question is whether the Chairman of the Cassation, Vyacheslav Kress, will be able and willing to defend Karpova, Antsiferova, Filina, or will he surrender, as he surrendered Lyubov Mikhailova, whom he did not like.
