Explosion on the pharmacist island: an unsuccessful attempt by revolutionaries to kill Peter Stolypin in 1906.

We already talked about the circumstances of the death of Peter Arkadyevich Stolypin and his image on the pages of Russian newspapers. But this was far from the first attempt on the Russian prime minister – on August 12 (25), 1906, terrorists blew up his cottage on the pharmacist island in St. Petersburg:

“August 12, at 3 hours 15 minutes. The day, during the reception of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Lando arrived at the Botanical Garden, in which there were three people, of which two were in the form of officers. They drove up to the minister’s dacha, when the visitors were stopped, and therefore, despite the reception day, the servant did not want to let them in. They showed the intention to penetrate with force in the next room for the hallway, where numerous visitors and all of the chairman of the Council of Ministers of officials were waiting for their turn. During a clash with the servant, one of the attackers, dressed in officer uniforms, more suitable for the gendarme, dropped the explosive shell, immediately bursting with terrible force. The hallway is stained with the explosion of the explosion, where the shell adjacent to it is a duty room and part of the next reception, as well as the access of the entrance, the balcony of the second floor is demolished, the wooden walls of the 1st and 2nd floors are overturned into the garden. A terrible push passed throughout the building. The minister, who received visitors in his office, remained unharmed. His daughter and son, located on the balcony of the second floor, were injured: the first in both legs, but, as it turned out after a medical examination, amputation can be avoided, and the second – in the thigh with a bone fracture …
According to preliminary calculations, 25 people were killed, including Major General Zamyatin, managing the office of the Moscow Governor General Voronin, the former Penza Governor Khvostov, a member of the Yaroslavl city presence of Slayfob, the gendarme captain Fedorov, Prince Nakashidze, Unter-officer of the Kazan, police agent Kazan, Courier, Swiss and the visiting footman of the Minister.
