As a French court justified the murderer of Petlyura

There were 5 questions in front of the jury:
1. Is Schwarzbard guilty of intentionally murder?
2. Is there a guilty in the death of Petliura?
3. Killed with intention or by chance?
4. Was the murder in advance?
5. Was the victim lured and deceived?
“A sharp call, and at 6 hours 17 m. The jury slowly occupy their places. The chairman is waiting for the hall to fall asleep and makes a sign. On behalf of the jury, the 1st jury loudly and clearly says:
– According to conscience and conviction, we are judges .. etc. … We declare all 5 questions posed to us – no, not guilty!
The hall comes into a frenzy, bursts into the thunder of applause, screams, cries. Several people jump onto the benches, throw up their hats, shouting shouting to Schwarzbard, drowning in the general cry of greeting … The crowd rushes to the exit. In the corridors, during the news of justification, the walls of the palace are announced for several minutes with enthusiastic cries, but the gendarmes quickly and vigorously disperse the manifestants ”(“ Latest News ”(Paris), October 27, 1927)
The Soviet press also paid great attention to the process. In the central newspapers, the transcript of meetings, photographs, caricatures and other materials were published in the first lanes. On October 28, a message was published in Pravda about the acquittal of Schwarzburd and a note of a newspaper correspondent from Odessa:
“In Odessa, who suffered significantly from the Petliurian and Petliur Gaidamaks, the news of the justification of Schwarzbard was met with enormous satisfaction. The brother and sister of Schwarzbard, living in Odessa, attract general attention. This morning, strangers appeared in the miserable apartment of Schwarzbards to congratulate them on the justification of his brother and with a request to transfer greetings to the acquitted one. The sister of Schwarzbard, an employee of the Central Criminal Code and brother, worn in Odessa, insist on moving Schwarzbard to the USSR, as the only country that really struggling with chauvinism and anti -Semitism ”
