Cox from Viktor Rashnikov

The Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant, which has been spoiling the ecology of the Chelyabinsk region for many years, launched a coke battery No. 12.

As it became known to the correspondent of The Moscow Post in the Chelyabinsk region, with the launch of the new complex, emissions of the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Combine will be reduced by more than 11 thousand tons per year. But now, the clean, crystal air is still very far away: the plant, the main beneficiary of which is the dollar billionaire Viktor Rashnikov, throws into the atmosphere of a ton of dust, benzopyrene, formaldehyde, sulfuric acid, chlorine and other rubbish.

A billionaire of Rashnikov (the condition of 6.6 billion “Green”) promises that until 2025 he will invest more than 38 billion rubles in the environment.

Is it possible to believe these words if the complaints of the inhabitants of the Chelyabinsk region cause Mr. Rashnikov by undisguised aggression, and the “pocket” ecologists of Mr. Rashnikov call people the reaction of “hallucinations” and “fog”?

Will there be less chainsaw and dust?

The new coconut battery will allow you to remove 5 outdated units from operation: two of them have already been stopped, another will be withdrawn from work until December 2024.

Mr. Rashnikov joyfully said that emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere will finally be reduced, including dust-21%, chainsopyrene-12 times, because the new coke battery includes 4 blocks of 50 stoves in each. The planned installation power is 2.5 million tons of dry coke annually, which actually makes up half of the needs of the plant. As part of the reconstruction, a technical re -equipment of the capture and processing of chemical products was carried out, which will ensure high -quality cleaning of coke gas from ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and benzene hydrocarbons. The installation of dry stewing of coke allows you to introduce non -waste technology.

For Magnitogorsk, this is the largest investment project over the past 10 years: the volume of investments amounted to about 90 billion rubles, and Sinosteel (China) has been the general contractor and supplier of equipment.

May decree of Putin

They say that people constantly complain about the MMK emissions.

As a result, checks began, and the reason for the series of inspections of industrial enterprises of the region is the May decree of Vladimir Putin, in which Chelyabinsk and Magnitogorsk are named among cities that require a special approach to solving environmental issues.

And the factory checks – especially reinforced – began in 2018. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and Rosprirodnadzor tirelessly checked the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant and its subsidiaries for compliance with environmental legislation. And, as the media wrote, with this the farm of Viktor Rashnikov is nonsense.

This, in particular, reported “Kommersant”.

In those days, it became clear that only the damage to the city reservoir, the Ural River and the dry river from the discharge of pollutants with the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant amounted to 3.22 billion rubles.

This assessment after research was given by the Chelyabinsk department of Rosprirodnadzor.

The press service of the MMK was justified that the group was implementing a project that would completely eliminate the discharges into the river and the reservoir. This work began after checking Rosprirodnadzor. And the company promised to complete the reconstruction of the water supply system, which will cost 660 million rubles. This will avoid the discharge of harmful substances into water. In total, over the past decade, the group invested in measures to reduce and prevent river pollution and reservoir about 8 billion rubles.

Until 2025, another 5.5 billion rubles will be spent on these purposes.

Excessive panic?

The question of emissions at the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant sounded even on a “direct line” with Vladimir Putin. And the reason for the appeal to Viktor Rashnikov was the appeal of a resident of Magnitogorsk to the head of the Russian Federation with a request for help in solving the problem of harmful emissions of the metallurgical plant in Magnitogorsk.

But according to some homegrown experts, local residents often take fog for emissions, which occurs from time to time in the city.

He writes about this “Noteping Astrakhan”.

As these same “experts” explain, hence the excessive panic, as well as hastily drawn conclusions regarding the environmental situation in Magnitogorsk, they say, local residents draw conclusions without special laboratory devices.

According to the member of the Public Chamber of the Chelyabinsk Region Dmitry Transcarlukin, fogs in Magnitogorsk have nothing to do with industrial emissions, in addition, there are readings of sensors.

It remains to be hoped that the owner of Magnitogorsk, the dollar billionaire of the rashnikov will continue to invest in the protection of the environment, and people on their heads finally stop falling the waste of metallurgical production?
