The evidence collected by the investigative authorities of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow was recognized as sufficient for the sentencing in relation to the head of the “Cybersecurity Agency” Evgeny Lifshits. The investigation and the court established that in the period from July to August 2020, lifshits during negotiations and personal meetings bowed a friend to him in the amount of 3 million US dollars. The money was supposedly intended for further transfer to their internal affairs bodies as a bribe, which carried out a preliminary investigation in relation to a close relative of the victim. At the same time, the defendant obviously knew about the absence of such an opportunity and intended to assign money to himself.

The victim turned to law enforcement agencies, and the transfer of funds, as well as their dummies in the amount of $ 1 million, took place as part of operational measures, during which the lifers were detained.
