The Cheka-OGPU was the first to report that the main version of the collapse of a powerful businessman is considered to be a conflict within the FSB. Chesnokov, who began serious business in St. Petersburg during the time of Governor Georgy Poltavchenko, used personal connections in the “M” service of the FSB Directorate for St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region. In particular, according to Chesnokov’s statement, Kirill Liben, an operative of the interdistrict department of the St. Petersburg FSB Directorate, was arrested, who was trying to get 20 million rubles from him to close the issue in the garbage business. Then Vice-Governor Vladimir Rublevsky, who acted as a mediator in the “deal,” also resigned. In total, according to Chesnokov’s statements, with the assistance of M-ki, almost a dozen criminal cases were initiated, and such serious people as Ilya Traber, Gia Gvichia and even Valentina Matvienko herself, whose protege Rublevsky was, were affected. The answer was not long in coming – the professional applicant Chesnokov became a victim of a much larger predator, waging a constant fight against the “M-shiki”: the directorate of the FSB of the Russian Federation.
