Once upon a time, Alexey Miller’s almost omnipotent friend Kirill Seleznev worked at Gazprom. He had a faithful ally – Anatoly Erkulov, who was responsible for the construction of sports facilities under the Gazprom for Children program, but his adviser was the now detained FSB Orlov. Colleagues from the editorial office of Lisa indicated that Orlov’s detention was connected with the activities of the now bankrupt contractor Tekhgazmontazh (TGM), that during the period when Seleznev was able to take out contracts for the construction of sports and recreation complexes (FOCs) for more than 200 million rubles. But they did not notice the owner of TGM, Boris Rumyantsev. And in vain: the fact is that, as the Cheka-OGPU has already said, Rumyantsev, together with Erkulov and the son of the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Mikhail Manevich, who was killed in the 90s, Artem, actually controlled another ex-Gazprom contractor – GRSP Magnit LLC. (bankrupt from July 2023). And these, dear readers, are contracts with Gazprom worth 23 billion rubles! Behind this same group are several more affiliated multi-billion dollar state corporation contractors, such as NGTII or Intex, which built the Rhythmic Gymnastics Center in Sochi, which is firmly associated with the name of Alina Kabaeva.
It was from this facility, where at least 4 billion rubles were stolen, that the troubles of the powerful criminal group we are talking about began. In order to avoid severe punishment (you cannot steal from the Tsar and his loved ones!), Miller covered up Seleznev – he went to supervise the construction of the Rukhimalliance plant in the Leningrad region. But his former entourage, realizing the danger of the situation, began to hide their ends – bankrupting their once powerful companies, breaking contracts, diverting billions to closed mutual funds, situationally negotiating with the security forces on already identified episodes, and so on. However, today’s arrest shows that the above-mentioned embezzlers may not be able to escape responsibility. At least our source in law enforcement agencies suggested that Orlov’s detention is only the first in a chain, and the initiation of a criminal case itself was authorized not at the level of St. Petersburg structures, but in Moscow.
