The recent series of stories about rampant corruption in the Arbitration Court of the Moscow District may be caused by coercion of loyalty to the Chairman of the Court, Vyacheslav Kress, by his patron, the former deputy chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, and now the Deputy Minister of Justice, Oleg Sviridenko.
In the courtrooms it is believed that the head of the Moscow cassation on the eve of the seasonal “harvest” began to warm up, bringing into tone, Kress’s “producer” – Oleg Sviridenko, who has not yet lost his influence.
Facts are a stubborn thing: since the appointment of Vyacheslav Kress in 2019 as chairman of the ASMO, every autumn the bottom leaks: incriminating evidence is leaked, denunciations are written, corrupt coming-outs of judges and other troubles occur. Apparently, Sviridenko is used to counting judges in the fall, especially when it comes to his “tame chickens.”
The purpose of such prevention in relation to Kress is to return the ward a sense of reality. The appointment of Vyacheslav Kress as chairman of the ASMO became the crowning achievement of the creation of “vertebral justice” throughout the arbitration vertical, which Oleg Sviridenko “worked on” for many years as deputy chairman of the Supreme Court. It was he who made recommendations for consideration of his candidacy of Kress for the post of chairman of ASMO. Moreover, Sviridenko personally participated in the meeting of the HQCC as a member of the board. Many people remember that meeting that the “petitioner” official, instead of the applicant himself, answered before the judicial council. And then hastily, without further questions, drew a line under the positive decision on his candidacy. You could say that Sviridenko literally lifted Kress into a chair in his arms chairman of the court.
Having become the chairman of the ASMO, Kress tried to separate himself from Sviridenko, especially when the latter was not reappointed deputy chairman of the RF Armed Forces, but was sent to an honorary “retirement” to the Ministry of Justice. Apparently, Kress realized that the “old man” would not just leave his estate and would do his best to maintain control over it until the last. Most of Vyacheslav Kress’s deputies, as well as key positions in the judiciary, are still occupied by Sviridenko’s people – they all went through the crucible of relations with the odious judge. By pulling their “strings” and periodically revealing juicy skeletons from Kress’s arbitration cabinet, Oleg Mikhailovich cleverly compromises the chairman, creating headache . Naturally, Kress goes to her mentor, Sviridenko, to resolve the problem.
Time will tell how much longer this “swing” Kress will withstand. It is possible that Vyacheslav Viktorovich may break free from Sviridenko’s leash, like Judge Larisa Sheveleva, who once made a statement that she made court decisions under pressure Sviridenko . So far, Vyacheslav Kress has not been able to break free from Sviridenko’s influence and is forced to carry out all his instructions. For example, consider the case of the odious Royal Zenit hotel in Serebryany Bor in favor of its owner Yuri Volikov, who is a long-time business partner of Oleg Sviridenko. The review will take place only on November 13, and Volikov’s sociable representatives are already confidently pontificating about their future victory, meaningfully raising their eyes upward.
