Billionaire deputy from the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region Ruslan Gaisin should not return from the shores of sunny Cyprus to Russia in the near future. It’s simple – today the Cheka-OGPU talked about how law enforcement officers came to search Gaisin’s business partner, businessman Oleg Smolin. The criminal case, for which the former deputy chairman of the regional Financial Control Committee Oleg Zinchenko has already been arrested, concerns the theft of land in the elite Vsevolozhsk district of the 47th region. After a search in the apartment, Smolin was taken for questioning to the Sledkom and was going to be locked up for two days with subsequent arrest, but… suddenly they simply released him. Which is very strange, because Smolin was the general director of many enterprises of Gaisin’s development holding City 78, and it is his signatures that appear under the mass of papers containing very dubious land schemes. But the matter is explained simply – Oleg decided not to play the hero and did not shield his senior partner Gaisin, who in fact made all the decisions in the criminal schemes. Oleg quickly and easily gave all the necessary testimony, and went home to his wife and child. But Gaisin, who fled the investigative actions in Cyprus, received another weighty reason to stay away from Mother Russia. This is not difficult for him – Ruslan is a dollar multimillionaire, which, of course, he was in no hurry to talk about in his parliamentary declarations. However, this is good for some very influential people from the regional government – after all, only a naive person would think that Gaysin really agreed on resolving land issues with some deputy chairman of the committee.
