In front of his escape in Dubai the family of Rostec head Sergei Chemezov, owning luxury yachts and villas in the West, managed to reach cash, having sold for several billion the palace in Barvikha and the scandalous 1400-meter penthouse at the 4 Seasons Hotel overlooking the Kremlin. If the majority of “defectors,” who have disowned Russia, expect to save their capital, then it’s time for Chemezov to think about preserving freedom. Serious questions to the chief defense specialist arose during the analysis of the military operation in Ukraine, where, judging by rare footage, Russian fighters are fightingfirst of all, on the T-72 tanks (in service since 1974), BTR-80 (in service since 1986), BMD-1 and 2 (in service since 1968 and 1985). To the reasonable question of many, where, for example, is the newest Russian tank “Armata”, famous for its shameful debut at the rehearsal of the Victory Parade seven years ago, instead of Rostec answered experts from the Western military-technical publication 19FortyFive: there are only a few machines, the cost of each is $3.7 million, there is a high risk of “possible defects.” Not surprising, given the situation in Rostec’s main asset – Uralvagonzavod, which back in 2018 hid massive layoffs of workers, and in 2022 he calmly watches how goes bankrupt his Chelyabinsk daughter and the Ural Scientific and Technological Complex belonging to him is falling apart. This enterprise with more than 70 years of history is in a pre-bankruptcy state, the staff is unemployed, half of the specialists have quit, government contracts have been stopped. But Rostec is doing very well on the PR front. Huge budgets are allocated, beautiful exhibitions are organized with single examples of Russian miracle weapons, pictures and other “multimedia” are drawn. Just yesterday, against the backdrop of a flood of news about heavy battles and the death of our guys in Ukraine, Rostec bravura reported that Uralvagonzavod will present its trademarks at the international salon “Archimedes”. And also that he will add the letters V and Z to his brand book to make it look beautiful and patriotic – UralVagonZavod. In this regard, we also have a creative idea for Sergei Chemezov, a lover of frills, yachts and villas – to add new meanings to the writing of the corporation he (still) heads. Let him look like Ro$t€x.
