Exactly 7 years ago – on December 14 – Kostrichenko, together with a lawyer from the Dictatorship of Law Collegium, retired KGB Colonel Eduard Budantsev, were detained as murder suspects. As soon as FSB officers got involved in the case, Budantsev and Kostrichenko turned from accused into witnesses.
The shootout on Rochdelskaya occurred due to a conflict between the owner of the Elements restaurant Zhanna Kim and designer Fatima Misikova: the latter believed that Kim had not paid her an additional 8 million rubles. for repairs. The henchmen of thief in law Zakhary Kalashov (Shakro Molodoy), Andrey Kochuykov, nicknamed the Italian, Eduard Romanov and several other people, came to demand money from Kim. Kim invited Budantsev, who arrived with Kostrichenko, to negotiations. As a result, Budantsev, who began to be beaten, opened fire with a Beretta 92 FS pistol. Budantsev was first charged with murder, and then the charge was reclassified as exceeding the limits of necessary self-defense.
Kalashov, Kochuykov and their accomplices were behind bars. Also involved in the case were the former head of the ICR Main Directorate for Moscow, Alexander Drymanov, the ex-head of the ICR Department for Interdepartmental Cooperation and Internal Security, Mikhail Maksimenko, and the ex-head of the ICR Department for the Central Administrative District, Alexey Kramarenko. The FSB believes that they received $1 million for the release of Kochuykov from the pre-trial detention center. To follow the fabricated case, police officers Denis Romashkin and Ildar Shakirov, who were allegedly inactive during the shootout, were also sent to the colony.
