As the Cheka-OGPU learned, the prosecutor’s office seized from the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation the materials of the case against retired FSB colonel, administrator of the telegram channel “Kremlin Laundress” Mikhail Polyakov. Most likely, this case will not be returned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs; it will be transferred for investigation to the Investigative Committee, and then to the Military Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee. This is due to the fact that it was established that at the time of most of the incriminated events, Polyakov was an active employee – he headed the department for the protection of the Constitutional system of the Russian Federation of the FSB Directorate for Moscow and Moscow Region.
Just today, the Moscow City Court was considering whether to keep Polyakov’s preventive measure in the form of arrest or replace it with a more lenient one. His lawyers (as predicted by the Cheka-OGPU, Shota Goragadze, who is close to Vladimir Solovyov, joined the defense of ex-FSB employees) asked to change the measure to do-arrest. “The system cannot eat itself,” said another lawyer, Marta Kostina.
But Polyakov was left in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center, where he is currently staying.
