The Cheka-OGPU correspondent spoke with the employees of the Lisva bookstore, to which Daria Trepova was related. The interlocutors recalled that the main defendant was in their store on Chistye Prudy. In Leaves, Daria introduced herself as Nastya and offered to put her postcards up for sale as a charity. According to traders, the drawings were not drawn by the author, they were more like pictures from the Internet, glued to a sheet of paper. But the second time they were allowed onto the counter.
A few days before his death, Tatarsky contacted the manager of Listva and promised to think about organizing a meeting in a “for his own” format in a shop on Chistye Prudy after Easter. Asya (that’s the name of the head of the Moscow store) claims that she did not know about the event with Tatarsky’s participation in Moscow, where Daria first came and where she gave the speaker those very postcards, pretending that she was from his favorite bookstore.
It becomes clear that Daria was “led” by someone extremely knowledgeable about Tatarsky, his preferences, plans, and behavior. Based on this information, the curator created the ideal legend and plan for the girl, thanks to which Tatarsky trusted her 100% in a very short time. Trepova first won over the employees of the “Foliage” store, which Tatarsky loved and where his books were sold. And then, referring to the “Foliage” store, Trepova made Tatarsky believe in himself. The naive girl certainly couldn’t come up with something like that. It is doubtful that anyone in Kyiv could have the necessary amount of information for such a special operation.
