As the Cheka-OGPU learned, the 28th police department of the Central District of St. Petersburg is conducting an investigation into an attack by a Yandex Food delivery man on a 68-year-old pensioner, a teacher at one of the universities, right in the historical center of the city. A woman received a punch in the face from a young man for a remark that her friend made to a courier on a scooter driving along a crowded sidewalk.

The result, as colleagues from Lisa’s editorial office write, was a fall, resulting in numerous hematomas and bruises, a nervous breakdown and a surge in blood pressure, as well as partial loss of speech. While passers-by tried to lift the victim from the sidewalk, the attacker fled on his scooter.

Incidents with scooters that have become regular, despite complaints from St. Petersburg residents, are shocking. Usually these are collisions with passers-by, sometimes accompanied by severe injuries. But an outright attack by a courier on a pensioner right in front of walking St. Petersburg residents has not yet been on the news agenda. We hope that this incident with the Yandex representative will not go unnoticed, including by the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, who always pays attention to cases of illegal actions against the most vulnerable sections of the population.
