Andrei Kozlov was shot dead by a killer on September 13, 2006 on Oleniy Val Street, 3 in Moscow.
Officially, this crime has been solved for a long time. The organizer was named banker Alexey Frenkel. And his assistant is Bogdan Pogorzhevsky. The latter served time in the “Kozlov case”, changed his first and last name to Ilya Raevsky, got a job as deputy chairman of the board of the Premier Credit bank, and then appeared before the servants of Themis for embezzling funds from this bank.
The operatives who were part of the group in the “Kozlov case” believe that the crime has not been fully solved. Frenkel was never an independent figure in the market of shadow banking services; more significant people certainly stood behind him. In 2019, Frenkel from a colony, where he was subjected to severe bullying, sent a letter with a desire to give detailed testimony, but the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs were suspiciously not interested in them.
Andrei Kozlov launched a “war” with the two largest shadow bankers of that time – Evgeny Dvoskin and Ivan Myazin – and consistently revoked the licenses of the banks controlled by them. For example, banks Evroprominvest, BELKOM, Neman, etc. And by this time Dvoskin and Myazin had become leaders in the cash-out markets. And on September 14, 2006, at the height of this war, Kozlov was killed by killers. Alexey Frenkel immediately came under suspicion. However, as the source said, operatives recorded that before the crime he repeatedly met with Dvoskin and Myazin, and after the crime with Myazin alone. Myazin and Dvoskin got into development together with Frenkel in the “Kozlov case”. But then they received a strict command not to touch them.
