As the Cheka-OGPU learned, the materials of the criminal case against the president of the Dynamo-Samara mini-football club Igor Karpov, his friend and partner Vasily Ermakov and Denis Zubov (son of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Zubov) contain correspondence between Karpov and Igor Zubov. It follows from it that Karpov acted on the instructions of Zubov Sr. Karpov called trips on illegal oil business matters in his letters to the general “business trips”, reported on business trips, asked to place his acquaintances in certain positions in the Ministry of Internal Affairs (and they received places). The deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs responded with “cool photos” showing a luxurious life. 
Here, for example, from the correspondence between Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Zubov and Karpov:
“Good morning to you too, Igor Nikolaevich. I’m reporting the situation! I’ll soon be “sent” to a pre-trial detention center in Samara. There are no worthy personnel in Moscow. I’ll keep an eye on Samara land. How is A.A. Khranovsky, deputy from Otradny, whom we’ll tell you Vasily Anatolyevich recommended it, works well?
The vulgar business trip was relatively successful; for shipping oil without a license to Vasily Anatolyevich’s base, he got off with a fine + was lucky with the amnesty. I hope it will be the same this time 🙏“
