As it turned out, the governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko, over whom clouds have been gathering over the last year and a half, still has quite strong teeth. As colleagues from Lisa’s editorial office reported, economic police searched the house of the mother of Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative for the Northwestern Federal District Vadim Potomsky. They were interested in his cousin in the case of theft of money during waste disposal, but this is just a pretext. In order to enter the family nest of the ex-governor of the Oryol region, Potomsky, who in the past even enjoyed the favor of Putin himself, a serious will is needed. We are telling you something behind the scenes: as the Cheka-OGPU already wrote, it was Vadim Potomsky who handed over to the FSB the ex-head of the administration of the Vsevolozhsk district, Andrei Nizovsky, who was closest to Drozdenko. He extorted from Potomsky a record bribe for the Leningrad region in 2023 of 190 million rubles for adding a plot of land to a landfill, which Potomsky’s team boldly took control of. Now it’s not even a matter of revenge – the governor cannot allow Potomsky, who openly challenged Potomsky, to strengthen his position in a strategically important area. In addition, he has practically no close and trusted people left – most of his loyal team is in pre-trial detention or forced to hide in the shadows. And so Drozdenko had to strain his swollen muscles and give the impudent deputy plenipotentiary a painful poke in the nose. Fortunately, the governor has a good relationship with the leadership of the local Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which cannot be said about his reputation in the FSB Directorate.
