Rusagro Group of Companies decided to replenish its raider piggy bank with a huge part of the territory of the Saratov region. The structures gobbled up everything they could get their hands on during the bankruptcy of the local agricultural holding Solar Products. All of Solpro’s production assets have been swallowed and digested, now dessert is in turn in the form of hundreds of thousands of hectares of agricultural land of the Agroinvest company.
According to media reports, the budget for the seizure is several million dollars. Apparently, everyone should have a share – bankruptcy trustees, arbitration, and law enforcement officers. In this situation, it is clear why the court easily cancels the deal as early as 2015, although it is far beyond the statute of limitations.
It was during that period that Madin CJSC, which was part of the Solpro holding, left the founders of Agroinvest. Moreover, it didn’t just happen, but in return he received liquid shares of Agrofirma Volga JSC worth more than 450 million rubles. Agroinvest was set free to set out on its own, which it successfully managed – revenue for 2021 amounted to about 2 billion rubles, and profit – about 800 million rubles. Over six years, the asset was replenished with thousands of hectares of irrigated land on which soybeans and sunflowers grew. It was them that Rusagro targeted, protesting the deal with Madin CJSC as a sham.
In 2022, the arbitration court twice caved in to Rusagro, but in the cassation in Kazan there was an embarrassment – the decisions were overturned and the case returned to the first instance. Motivated Saratov judges and tax officials continued to follow the line of the invaders. Agroinvest went into liquidation, its assets were swallowed up; A criminal case was opened against the owner Andrei Dmitrievich Khokhlov, who tried to change the general director and save his company, and he himself was sent into bankruptcy.
Other cases regarding agricultural lands leased from Agroinvest are stamped as if they were carbon copies, although even there the statute of limitations has long expired.
By this time, complaints from the robbed Khokhlov and other agricultural companies had reached the Supreme Court. Observers are wondering: will this dispute really end with another victory for a raider known throughout the country?
