Another high-profile arrest in the government of the Leningrad region. This time, operatives of the FSB Directorate for St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region detained the Chairman of the Fuel and Energy Complex Committee, Yuri Andreev, on suspicion of receiving a large bribe. According to Delta.News, Andreev has now been taken to the regional Investigative Committee and is giving evidence. Colleagues believe that the criminal case in which the chairman was detained is related to the subordinate Center for Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency. At the beginning of October, the director of this center, Pavel Dudkevich, was detained. This arrest was the fourth high-profile detention of major officials of the Leningrad region government over the past few years. And three of them were in the fuel and energy sector. Thus, the previous chairman of the committee, Andrei Gavrilov, was detained by FSB operatives in July 2018. It was about a particularly large-scale fraud in the construction of gas pipelines. After the testimony given by Gavrilov, the relevant vice-governor Oleg Koval was arrested at the end of January 2019. He is still under recognizance not to leave. Koval’s office was occupied by Sergei Kharlashkin, who came from St. Petersburg. But in August of this year he was taken to the Moscow Lefortovo pre-trial detention center. True, this arrest is connected with Kharlashkin’s past activities as chairman of the Committee for the Development of Transport Infrastructure in St. Petersburg. https://t.me/De1taNews/6311
