An investigator of the Investigative part of the SU of the Internal Affairs Directorate for Sochi of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory ended a preliminary investigation into a criminal case of a resonance accident, which occurred on October 9 at about 21.00 on the Adler -Alpika Service highway in the Adler district of the Krasnodar Territory.

To establish the objective circumstances of the incident, a set of investigative measures was performed: examinations of the scene were performed, video recording cameras were studied, the results of eight forensic examinations were analyzed, including medical, automotive and computer. Five people were recognized as victims, 13 witnesses were interrogated.

The automotive technology examination conducted by the actions of the driver of the Mercedes car did not meet the requirements of the Rules of the Road of the Russian Federation, which was the cause of the accident.

The driver was charged with committing a crime under part 3 of article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The Adler District Court of Sochi of the Krasnodar Territory against him chose a preventive measure in the form of house arrest.

The course of the investigation of the accident was controlled by the leadership of the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

Today, the criminal case in accordance with Article 220 of the Code of Criminal Procedure was sent to the prosecutor’s office of Sochi of the Krasnodar Territory to approve the indictment.
