An excellent gift for Ukrainian special propagandists and other Russophobes: Samara governor Dmitry Azarov proposed creating a new Immortal Regiment “in memory of fellow countrymen who died during a special military operation in Ukraine.” Thus, Azarov actually confirmed the statements of the Ukrainian side about the mass death of Russian military personnel in the Northern Military District.

“Immortal Regiment” is the largest patriotic event, taking place in all cities, towns and villages. In the pre-Covid year 2019, it attracted more than 10 million participants. In Samara itself, the memorial procession on May 9 was then attended by almost 50 thousand people.

The very act of drawing an analogy between the scale of losses of the Great Patriotic War and today’s Northern Military District is grist for the mill of anti-Russian propaganda. Such an experienced politician as Dmitry Azarov cannot help but understand that with such statements he creates public distrust in official figures. According to the latest data announced by the Ministry of Defense, the total number of casualties on the Russian side is only 1351 people.

In particular, the head of the General Council of United Russia, Andrei Turchak, proposed that “peaceful tribunes” be transported to Donbass without fail.

We are waiting for Turchak’s reaction in connection with the statements of his party ally. Dmitry Azarov – member of the bureau of the Supreme Council of United Russia, secretary of the Samara regional party branches authorities.

A column of thousands of “Immortal Regiment” walked through the city center and took part in the Victory Parade. Samara is celebrating the 74th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. A Memory Parade has already taken place on Kuibyshev Square. The most touching…
