To put it mildly, the surprised owners (by the way, Russian citizens), who bought outright junk at the end of 2015 with a record 44 percent increase in price at the auction of the Russian Auction House and who invested billions of rubles of investment in it, are naturally going to defend their interests. The only question is whose interests the FAS actually defends.
According to a document received by the channel, a letter addressed to the President at the end of December 2021 with a proposal to ensure the creation of infrastructure for the supply of fish products on the basis of already existing fish terminals in the seaports of Korsakov (Sakhalin region), Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Mokhovaya Bay) and the port in Murmansk was written by the chairman of the board of directors of the Antey Group of Companies, a member of the government commission on socio-economic development of the Far East, Mr. Pinchevsky, former Vice-Governor of Sakhalin.
As one of the arguments for “before the foundations, and then” Pinchevsky lamented the fact that “as a result of the COVID pandemic, the export price of pollock – the main fishery in the Far East – fell by 50%, supplies of Russian fish products to China decreased by 69% in physical terms and 35% in value terms.” To solve this problem, at that moment he considered it expedient to redirect fish export flows, in particular, from the Far East to Europe.
In this regard, we have several questions. Whose interests does the FAS defend in court? How do these interests relate to the country’s food security? How will the renovation of the Murmansk fishing port in the current geopolitical situation increase supplies to Europe, and most importantly – why, when the same notorious pollock is becoming increasingly expensive on the domestic market? And finally, how did Mr. Pinchevsky manage to receive an approving resolution in a letter two days before the mark of his registration directly from the Presidential Administration?
