On Tuesday, the Federal Criminal Police and the Bavarian Criminal Police carried out searches at the offices of the Bayern club and at the Allianz-Arena stadium. The reason was a lease agreement for one of the 106 boxes at the stadium worth more than 250 thousand euros, concluded by a Cypriot company, the owner of which, presumably Alisher Usmanov, is hiding behind an offshore company. The money for the box came from Switzerland. According to information Süddeutsche ZeitungUsmanov’s employees initially agreed on a lease from a BVA company, but then rented from a Cypriot company.
The Prosecutor General of Frankfurt, according to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, suspects that there was money laundering when renting through an offshore nesting doll, which Usmanov’s Tashkent press service called comical in a written response to the newspaper. 
Usmanov is also accused of tax evasion between 2017 and 2022. Last September German police conducted searches at Usmanov’s villa on Lake Tegernsee, in the town of Rottach-Egern, where Usmanov visited regularly, kept staff and security, but never filed a tax return. The honorary president of the Bayern football club, Uli Hoeness, lives near Usmanov on Lake Tegernsee and is familiar with the Russian oligarch.
