According to Venediktov, when Chemezov came to oligarch Bokarev’s birthday party, information soon appeared on the “Lights Out” channel. Chemezov was dissatisfied and decided that the information was leaked by one of the small number of VIP guests. After that, for money, it was offered not only to delete the post, but also to hand over the informant. From the channel’s side, negotiations were conducted by Sobchak director Kirill Sukhanov.
The main goal of the whole story was to understand who leaked information from the event, the birthday party, where Chemezov was. “And he gave the command to his guys to find the wrong people who published it. And those who leaked. Naturally, they came from the channel. Further, this was all recorded by the investigation, money was offered. This was also recorded technically, and not just by testimony,” says Venediktov.
Sukhanov was detained while receiving the money. It was later established that the owner of the “Lights Out” channel was Ksenia Anatolyevna herself. An unexpected turn for Chemezov himself. However, the security forces promptly reported to the top and there they gave the go-ahead to “work off Sobchak to the fullest.”
Venediktov claims that this is a very convenient story for discrediting Sobchak, since “this is not a political article – fakes about the army or discrediting the army. They arrested me for fraud and extortion.”
