On April 3, Judge Lybina of the Bezhetsk Interdistrict Court left without consideration the request for parole of the ex-governor of the Komi Republic Vyacheslav Gaizer, a prisoner in penal colony No. 6. She asked Vyacheslav several times whether he was definitely refusing the application and whether there was any pressure from the administration – it was clear that she was understanding of the situation, perhaps even sympathetic.
The basis for this court decision was his appeal to withdraw his application for parole in connection with the repression of the supervisory prosecutor’s office for the correctional institution in the city of Tver.
The presence of even one reprimand makes it impossible to obtain parole in court, and the next deadline for filing is six months later. Senior Assistant Prosecutor Alexander Tikhomirov spent three days watching video recordings from external surveillance cameras, looking for a reason for disciplinary action in order to deprive Vyacheslav Gaizer of parole in court…
During the 7.5 years he was in custody, ex-governor Komi behaved perfectly. There was not even a single conditional reprimand, only rewards for conscientious work in the greenhouse and exemplary behavior.
Back in 2018, the head of the Lefortovo prison, Romashin, tried to reason with me from protest actions, citing Vyacheslav Mikhailovich as an example.
As a result, employees of IK-6 filed 5 reports of violations. The storage of food at the workplace was not proven, but 4 reports of “single movement” threatened to be placed in a punishment cell. When going to the disciplinary commission, Gaiser asked me (an experienced carer) what he could take with him to the “kicha”. He was depressed, as if he was going to the executioner on the scaffold.
I tried to reassure my Lefortovo comrade that such chaos would morally devalue the harsh punishment of a punishment cell in the zone…
Rather, the FSIN officers will make do with reprimands. And so it happened… Four reprimands were entered into a personal file.
I have long known the sad story of Vyacheslav Gaizer. It’s clear where he “came from”…
Former prosecutor of the Komi Republic Sergei Bazhutov was the initiator of the ordered criminal case against Gaiser. Now in the position of the Main Directorate of the State Prosecution of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, Bazhutov fears the release of the popular governor.
Maybe deprivation of parole is for the better?
