Added to all my hardships was the transfer from the next cell of my comrade, political prisoner Rakhmiddin Kamolov. He was placed in a “closed” prison for a maximum term of three years.
The goal is to destroy our tandem and deprive it of family support. There are only eight prisons in Russia (not to be confused with pre-trial detention centers and correctional colonies). And this is the worst type of correctional institution of the Federal Penitentiary Service.
The transfer request to the Bezhetsky Court of the Tver Region was signed by the head of IK-6, Pavel Motin. The meeting is scheduled for November 14.
We hope for the participation of Rakhmiddin’s lawyer, Maria Eismont, who is defending him for free. Recently, this most famous lawyer of the opposition achieved in the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow the transfer of Rakhmiddin Kamolov to the Astrakhan Federal Penitentiary Service, where his family lives, but the Moscow City Court overturned the decision.
The Penal Code of the Russian Federation says that it is necessary to serve the sentence in the region where the wife and child are registered, but the law in Russia is a drawbar. In the “prison” there is one visit and one transfer per year.
Before his arrest, Rakhmiddin was actively involved in public activities and criticized the authorities in various media. Was assistant to Bakhrom Khamroev from Memorial at the legal advisory center (ANO KPC) “Help”.
Arrested in 2016 on charges of organizing the activities of the Islamic party Hizb ut-Tahrir* (*banned in Russia). Sentenced to 16 years of strict regime under Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. He did not admit guilt.
Over the years, Rakhmiddin Kamolov received only 4 long visits with his mother, wife and young son. He was tortured by the Federal Penitentiary Service in the EPKT Rzhev, where the head was the famous sadist Lebedev. Just like me, he was abused by the hands of capos (*privileged prisoners who collaborated with the Nazi administration in concentration camps) of IK-6 Bezhetsk. Rakhmiddin has been on a hunger strike for a week now.
Well, we will survive alone for now. We are waiting for fresh batches of political prisoners to enter the zone.
