Let us recall that the Presnensky court sentenced Sergei Sokolov, who had previously been convicted four times, to 5 years in prison, who during the investigation and at trial stated that Mirimskaya’s lawyers, Yulia Zhuravleva and Alexander Chernov, contacted him a year ago to organize the murder of Mirimskaya’s ex-husband, ex-director of YUKOS. on the development of Alexey Golubovich (with him the woman shared $70 million) and lawyer Vadim Bagaturia (he brought Mirimskaya to the pre-trial detention center and helped Golubovich with information). However, Chernov and Zhuravleva got scared and decided to replay the situation as a fraud by editing recordings of subsequent negotiations with Sokolov and handing him over to the operatives.
Justifying himself from the exposure of the Cheka-OGPU, lawyer Alexander Chernov organized a publication in Kommersant in which he stated that a phonoscopic examination had been carried out in Sokolov’s case, which refuted the installation of slander and therefore Sokolov was lying. But, as the materials of Sokolov’s case show, it is Chernov himself who is lying – Sokolov was consistently denied a phonoscopy by both the investigator and the court, knowing full well that with a proper assessment of the records, the case would fall apart and take on a completely different vector, unfavorable to Mirimskaya and her lawyers. In this regard, it will be interesting to observe how, with such an approach to the truth, the latter will save Mirimskaya from the 20-year sentence that threatens her for bribes.
