After the publication of the Cheka-OGPU about the court mitigating the charges against the former chief of staff of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Yaroslavl region, Alexei Klyucharyov, which allowed the colonel to avoid punishment, the prosecutor’s office issued a statement of disagreement with the verdict.
“The prosecutor’s office did not agree with the court’s verdict, considering the reclassification of the actions of the convicted person with the exception of the qualifying attribute “causing grave consequences” as illegal, and therefore the verdict will be appealed on appeal with arguments about strengthening the qualifications and the imposed punishment,” the statement says.
Klyucharyov, by signing acts of non-existent work on the construction of the Canine Service Center, caused damage to the federal budget in excess of 40 million rubles. However, the judge of the Kirovsky District Court of Yaroslavl, Andrei Gasyukov, for some reason decided that this was not a serious consequence of abuse of office, and passed a sentence under Part 1 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code. As a result, Colonel Klyucharyov was released from punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
