On the eve of the arrest, Moiseev and Fedorov published the next part of the investigation about the fabrication of the case against Vorontsov. The only episode brought against Vorontsov that did not fall apart in court was the extortion of money from ex-Ministry of Internal Affairs employee Kurbanov. The accusation is based solely on Kurbanov’s testimony. The case materials indicate the date and phone number from which Vorontsov allegedly extorted money. There is no detail of this number in the file, since the episode surfaced three years later; operators do not store that much detail. However, Moiseev and Fedorov found out that this number during the specified period was corporate and belonged to one of the banks. The bank provided the remaining details (it comes with the invoice for payment). It follows from it that Vorontsov did not use this number and no calls were made to Kurbanov.
After the film’s release, its creators were detained.
Previously, they created the film “Save the Police Ombudsman,” about how the case against Vladimir Vorontsov was fabricated. In particular, Svetlana (real name Irina Andina), sent by Vorontsov’s friends, agreed to become the distressed one. She pretended that she was ready to cooperate with the Internal Security Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. In exchange for reinstatement in the police force, she was offered to give false testimony against Vorontsov, as if he extorted money from her.
In the trial of Vorontsov, this episode, like many others, fell apart.
