After completing the investigation into the case of $5 million deception of the famous fixer Denis Shapiro (aka Dionisy Zolotov), detectives finally reached the closest relatives of the main defendants, co-owners of the V&V holding Alexander Balakhovsky and Yakov Bosinzon.

Law enforcement agencies, together with the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, established the exact location of the son of Alexander Balakhovsky, Mikhail Balakhovsky, who fled abroad, as well as his daughter and part-time wife of Yakov Bosinzon, Tatyana Bosinzon. Both are hiding in Israel, not particularly trying to use secrecy measures.

The investigation intends to charge them in absentia with embezzlement on an especially large scale (Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), as well as participation in a criminal community (Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The last article will also be charged to other defendants in the foreseeable future. The Main Investigative Directorate of the Russian Federation for Moscow will first petition for the arrest in absentia of Tatyana Bosinzon and Mikhail Balakhovsky, and after the court makes the appropriate decisions, it will launch the procedure for their extradition. Now it’s up to the Prosecutor General’s Office. The suspects face serious trouble, including the seizure of accounts and assets stolen through criminal means.

As previously reported by the Cheka-OGPU, the investigation found that the financial director of the V&V holding, Vyacheslav Yarymov, who had worked for Balakhovsky since 2013, helped illegally withdraw over 2 billion rubles from the company. At the same time, the bulk of the funds ended up in Israel in the accounts of Tatiana Bosinzon. Svetlana Naumocheva, Alexander Shelepov and Gulnara Kurshibaeva (Rybalkina) are also facing charges.

The investigation found that in 2014, Denis Shapiro bought for $5 million a stake in Best Clean LLC, the main asset of the holding, which produces household chemicals under the well-promoted trademarks Unicum, Сotico, EasyWork and others.

When Shapiro was soon taken into custody, the partners decided not to share the profits with him. They re-registered the plant and trademarks to companies and individuals under their control. The production of household chemicals remained in the same place in Vidnoye, near Moscow, but the plant itself was bankrupt, and Shapiro’s share was “reset to zero.” As part of the case, the former general director of the plant, Olesya Kaplistaya, has been put on the wanted list.

Another nominal director of the enterprise, Alexander Savoskin, is also imprisoned in the pre-trial detention center. He, as well as Alexander Balakhovsky and Yakov Bosinzon, are charged with a whole “bouquet” of five counts, including fraud on an especially large scale. “The investigation estimated the damage at 3.5 billion rubles,” said the victim’s lawyer Shapiro Roman Kandaurov. “The accused are getting acquainted with the case.”
