A source in the government of Bashkortostan reports that Radiy Khabirov, experienced in political technologies, understands everything. Therefore, he has devoted the last few days to calling influential security forces acquaintances at the federal level and is trying to negotiate a lenient attitude towards Ildar Yulanov in the context of a multimillion-dollar embezzlement case.
The key goal is to convince the feds to stop at one theft of 91 million rubles and not expand the case with other episodes that are already in the testimony of a number of witnesses. But as they say, neither the head of the Investigative Committee Bastrykin nor the Prosecutor General Krasnov reacts to Khabirov’s behind-the-scenes appeals.
