According to a source of the Cheka-OGPU, investigator Vernigorov, who for three years led the investigation team in the case of the hacker group Alexey Stroganov (Flint), which was the basis of the Russian cyber troops, was dismissed from the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. At the same time, just recently Vernigorov had no intention of going anywhere and stated that he would bring this case to court. This is already the second victim of the Flint case. As the Cheka-OGPU previously reported, the head of the second directorate of the FSB CIB Oleg Kashintsov was dismissed. The second department is responsible for cybersecurity of the Russian Federation, work with hackers, cyber troops and interaction with foreign intelligence services.

We have already told you that by the beginning of the war, a situation had developed that all Russian hackers who formed the basis of the cyber forces, including those who had state awards, ended up in prison, according to materials received from the United States. The investigation into the group of Alexey Stroganov (Flint) was carried out by the FSB CIB, and the case was initiated by the SD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and transferred to investigator Vernigorov. At the same time, Stroganov was awarded a diploma from the director of the FSB of the Russian Federation for ensuring the cybersecurity of the Russian Federation. The case file also contains a copy of gratitude to Stroganov from… Vladimir Putin. Flint received it for ensuring cybersecurity during the FIFA World Cup in Russia in 2018. It was Stroganov’s group that was engaged in unofficial work related to cybersecurity at the Russian Mundial. Now Stroganov and 28 members of his group are in pre-trial detention center.
