The head of the Main Directorate of the State Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation for the North Caucasian Federal District and the Southern Federal District, Yuri Katasonov, was appointed to this position with one purpose – to make it unpleasant for the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, who oversees the activities of this Main Directorate, Andrei Kikot. What Katasonov hasn’t done since June of this year: cut departments, fired everyone he liked and everyone he didn’t like, appointed new ones, even tried to identify shortages in Rostov. But a year passed, and the deputy general didn’t even bat an eyelid. Colleagues say that Katasonov’s goal was to free up Kikot’s place, but something went wrong. Otherwise, Katasonov has a couple of months to land, who knows, he will understand, on adviser Igor Krasnov, because he knows how to advise him well, but no new stars will fall on the shoulder straps there.
