While on the wanted list, the “legendary” ex-FSKN employee Viktor Tolpygin died. He was an employee of the Federal Drug Control Service, was accused of taking a bribe and went on the run. While wanted, he became a drug lord, organizing shipments of cocaine to Russia from the Dominican Republic. When Tolpygin was caught, the jury completely acquitted him. This sentence was overturned, but Tolpygin did not wait for a new one and went on the run again. As a source of the Cheka-OGPU said, Tolpygin fled not far away. All this time he was hiding in Moscow. His body was found in the apartment where he was hiding. However, the relatives intend to demand a trial and want to achieve acquittal after death.
Viktor Tolpygin worked in the Federal Drug Control Service, and then in the Internal Affairs Directorate of the South-Western Administrative District. At this point the policeman got into trouble. In 2010, he detained a businessman with “weed” and began to demand $15 thousand from him. Tolpygin was detained while receiving the money, released on bail, and he went on the run. 
While in an underground position, he, from a number of friends, including ex-FSKN employee Igor Smal, put together a group that began to supply cocaine from the Dominican Republic to Moscow. In 2015, the group members were detained, but not Tolpygin. He was caught only in 2017 and placed under house arrest. And he went on the run again. In 2018, Tolpygin was caught again and sent into custody.
In 2019, the jury found that the investigation did not collect evidence of the guilt of the former FSKN employee; he was completely acquitted of all charges. Tolpygin was released. The prosecutor’s office did not agree with this decision, considering that the examination was carried out with violations. The Supreme Court overturned the verdict, and the case was sent for a new trial to the Moscow Regional Court. However, Tolpygin did not appear at the scheduled hearing. He went on the run and was put on the wanted list.
