A very unpleasant precedent has emerged in the United States for Russian officials, law enforcement officers, and Servants of Themis, who, despite the prohibitions, are very fond of traveling abroad. The District Court of Florida required the judge of the Nizhny Novgorod Arbitration Court, Yulia Andryukhina, to appear at the hearing. Otherwise, she may have problems with American justice, which actually extends to most of the world.

In the lawsuit, lawyer Evgeny Ryzhov (a person on Titov’s list accused Judge Andryukhina of participating in the seizure of his property, violating the UN Convention against Corruption, the RICO Act (an anti-corruption law, which also includes criminal prosecution) and the Anti-Transnational Criminal Groups Act.
According to American laws, if Judge Andryukhina fails to appear at the trial, all demands against her will be satisfied.

In this scenario, Judge Andryukhina will now have to forget about traveling abroad, including Turkey and Egypt, otherwise she faces up to 30 years in an American prison. Difficulties may also arise with her bank accounts, since the main Master and Visa systems are American systems and are required to obey the American court verdict.

According to experts, this is a “pilot” case to create a legal precedent. In the future, on its basis, it will be possible, in a simplified manner, to involve Russian judges and security officials in cases of international corruption crimes in the United States who are inviolable within their country.

With the help of such a quasi-legal scheme, the United States is testing a “personal iron curtain” for individual Russian functionaries and judges, which could be a substitute for broader and more inconvenient “sanctions.”
At the same time, Russia is also a party to the Convention against Corruption, and it is not yet possible to predict the position of a judge in the Russian legal system in the event of a violation of this convention established by an American court.
