According to the source, during the strike on the vocational school building, two representatives of the command staff of 1444 SMEs were killed: the head of the regiment’s clothing service, senior lieutenant Andrey Nikolaevich Shekhovtsev, and the deputy regiment commander, Colonel Alexey Anatolyevich Bachurin. They were mobilized officers.
At the same time, the commander of the 1444th SME, Colonel Enikeev Roman Ramilievich, and the chief of staff of the regiment, Colonel Kuzkin Vladimir Aleksandrovich, were absent from the regiment’s location in the vocational school during the strike.
The area for the temporary deployment of the regiment was chosen with the participation of representatives of the 1st Army Corps of the DPR and the administration of the city of Makeyevka.
The person making the final decision on the temporary location of the regiment was supposed to be the commander of the 1st Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 1st Army Corps, Colonel Alexey Mikhailovich Khairulin, into whose subordination the 1444 small and medium-sized infantry regiments of the territorial troops came.
Negligence in the decision to place all personnel in the vocational school building is argued by the lack of safe places throughout the territory of the DPR, which is under targeted fire from high-precision weapons of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to a source from the Cheka-OGPU, the official death toll in Makeyevka does not include those whose remains could not be recovered from the rubble and continue to be considered “missing.” It is precisely due to this that the official death toll statistics will be diluted. At the moment it is 89 people, but in reality it exceeds this figure.
All the dead were mobilized.
Not a single serviceman from the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces was killed during this shelling.
