A source from the Cheka-OGPU spoke about the first serious incident that occurred with thief in law Tariel Oniani (Taro) after he again ascended to the “thieves’ Olympus.” Taro got into a fight with the younger thief Varlam Kukhianidze (Vatia). Now this incident is “topic No. 1” in the criminal world and it will clearly have further consequences.

Each side has different versions of how events unfolded.

According to people around Taro, in a restaurant in one of the Balkan countries (according to the Cheka-OGPU, in Montenegro), Oniani accidentally met the “hooligan” Vatia. Taro recalled to him how he and three friends beat up thief in law Avtandil Tugushi (Avto Samtredsky), and the next day they also fired at him. A conflict arose, during which Varlam made unflattering remarks about Oniani, and in response, “Taro knocked out Vatia.”

Kukhianidze later tried to reconcile through mutual friends, but Oniani refused. “If Auto forgives him, then I will forgive him,” Oniani said.

According to the version of Vatia’s friends, set out by the Cheka-OGPU, there really was a conflict in Montenegro between Vatia and Taro in the presence of thief in law Goradze Mindia (Lavasogli Batumsky). After Taro’s unflattering words, Vatia reminded Tariel about the “baby” about the decoronation and declared that for him he was “not a thief.” Taro rushed at Vatia, but the latter hit him several times.
