In addition to the completely unresolved problems with fuel and lubricants, a problem with funding has arisen in the volunteer corps. Since the end of last year, mercenaries of the corps who were wounded have not received their due payments. The same applies to payments to relatives of the deceased. According to the source, this development of events is due to the fact that the first deputy chief of the GRU, Vladimir Alekseev (curator of the Volunteer Corps), deliberately puts the corps under his supervision in such a position, pushing military personnel of volunteer formations to sign contracts directly with the Ministry of Defense without a lining in the form of PMCs “Redoubt” (the public organization “Redoubt” is used as a legal screen for concluding contracts with volunteers). It is believed that in this way Alekseev is reducing all formations in the combat zone that were not previously directly subordinate to Shoigu and Gerasimov. In this way, Alekseev atones for “guilt” before the leadership of the Ministry of Defense for supporting Prigozhin and close relations with him. And the scheme works.
