The people with the camera and microphone were noticed by the plant security, but none of the security guards dared to approach and talk to the unknown people. The police were called, who, upon arriving at the scene, took the “spies” to the department without any explanation. There it turned out that television workers Vladimir Kortun and Kamiz Dzhabrailov work for a foreign company, have accreditation and certificates from the Union of Journalists of Russia. Interestingly, the journalists received a very ambiguous editorial assignment from the media of a “friendly” country – they had to film in front of an oil refinery and talk about rising fuel prices. Naturally, the correspondents did not warn anyone from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, local authorities and representatives of the Moscow Refinery, citing the urgency of the material and the exceptional “colorfulness of the construction.” Dzhabrailov and Kortun could not explain why it was impossible to record stand-ups against the backdrop of gas stations. As a result, they were handed over to the FSB as potential spies.
